Women and Victim Support

Our Goals

At Happy Me Community, we believe every woman deserves to feel safe, valued, and supported, especially those who have experienced domestic abuse or are navigating crisis, fear, or isolation. No one should face harm alone, and no woman should ever feel unheard because of language barriers, immigration status, or cultural challenges.

Our team has walked alongside women and families during some of the most difficult and traumatic moments of their lives. Whether offering emotional support, signposting and practical guidance, interpreting and advocacy, or simply creating a safe space to breathe, connect, and heal, we stand with survivors every step of the way.

Our prevention work reduces stigma, strengthens understanding, and encourages timely intervention within the community, ensuring no woman feels alone or unheard.

Through our work across Greater Manchester, we are building stronger, safer, and more resilient networks of care, where women can rebuild their confidence, access the support they deserve, and begin their journey toward healing and empowerment.

Tik's lived Experiences

Having been a victim of domestic violence twice, in two   completely different ways, Tik understands how deeply a lack of knowledge,   language, and confidence can stop a woman from asking for help.

Looking back in 2017,  she wish she had known where to turn, what my rights were, and that   support even existed the first time it happened to me. I simply didn’t have   the words, the information, or the belief that I deserved help.

But in 2022, just three days before Christmas, everything  was different. By then, she had already been working and volunteering in the Radcliffe and Bury communities. On that morning, she knew exactly where she  leave the house for few hours, as her home did not feel as safe anymore.

She took all three children with her to a place where she could speak in her own shaking voice, in her own time, without fear or judgement. She knew her children would be safe and cared for. She knew it was okay if she cried. Someone would sit beside her, console her, make a phone call on her behalf, and then place a warm  cup of tea in her hands.

That moment changed everything. It showed, for the first time, that no matter what a woman is facing at home, she can still find safety and support within her own community.

These experiences now shape Tik's purpose in life.  She wants every woman,   no matter her language, culture, or background, even if she does not yet recognise that she is a victim, to have those support she needs and community around her.  Tik's goal is simple: no woman should ever have to figure it out alone.

Tik's professional development

Tik completed her academic studies in Thailand and developed her career in Pharmaceutical  industry which brough her to a Strategic Lead for global healthcare professional engagement in the UK in 2015. Like many other immigrants, Tik discovered that life in the UK was far more challenging than she had hoped. Furthermore, she had to begin rebuilding her life and career in the in 2018, as a single mother of three , while still fighting for justice and trying to have her voice heard about what had happened to her; became a victim.

She found work in Social Care where the Managing Director welcomed her for her genuine smile, warmth, and positive attitude as a Carer, unaware that Tik’s dedication and capability would soon lead to rapid progression. Within a short time, she was promoted into community relations, recruitment and business development. She went on to lead training and development, contributing to the organisation achieving a CQC Outstanding rating.

Tik relocating to Bury with hopes of building a loving new chapter for her family, Tik began volunteering and working within the local community. She wanted her children to feel connected, rooted, and proud of where they lived. Her commitment was quickly recognised, and she was identified as a Bury Community Collaborator; a new community leader learning to navigate and work alongside local systems. Then she became a victim again, but this time, she refused to be silenced.

Tik went on to establish the Happy Me Community Group, which later became a registered CIC. During this time, she completed a nine‑month Community and Civic Leadership Programme, gained a community interpreting qualification, and began her journey in victim support work and volunteering.
